Changes to Monday runs in May - UPDATE

E-mail Print
March With a Bank Holiday and our normal Monday home being closed for refurbishment, there will be no club runs on Mondays in May (including the 28th).

However, panic not, on the 14th and 21st May we'll be heading to Battersea Park for the 5k race series. Changing facilities are available for a small fee and there's a handy bus direct from the park to the Three Stags for well earned food and drinks afterwards.
More details here.

New club kit!

London Frontrunners is pleased to announce that we have some new kit for you! Our cool professional running shirts, personalized with the London Frontrunners logo, are designed for your regular runs (whereas the club vests are for races). They are made of good quality material and are available in both men’s and women’s styles.

The shirts have been produced for us by German sports kit manufacturer Owayo. They have a narrow, athletic cut, and the side seam is gently curved toward the front for a good fit. The fabric is slightly elastic and has a high wicking action which ensures quick moisture release for optimal temperature regulation.

Special offer

Ordering – For our first club order we are making you a special offer to purchase for only £20 each (normally £24.50). This offer is only open until the end of May 2012, and is limited to 2 shirts per member.

If you would like to place an order, just email Gordon or Conor at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and tell us how many you’d like and in what size(s). No payment is required from you until your shirts arrive.

The Battersea Park 5k race series is a great opportunity for runners of all levels to boost their performance over this distance. The races are held in a friendly and informal atmosphere on the following Monday evenings: 14 & 21 May, 18 June and 2 July.

There will be a prize for the Frontrunner who achieves the biggest reduction in their handicap score over the race series. To establish your current handicap score, register for free at Run Britain and use the ‘Your handicap score’ tab.

It costs £4 to enter each race (plus £2 for showers). Races start at 19:00. Afterwards a bus leaves from Battersea Park station direct to our regular venue The Three Stags!

The coaching: here to help!

Wednesday’s coaching sessions will focus on improving 5k performance through to July. Join us at Kentish Town Sports Centre at 18:45 for sessions in Regent’s Park.

Talk to any of our coaches for further info: David T, Derek, Glynn, James G, Jon M, Julian M or Nikki. Or get in touch using the Contact Coaching form.

Steven Artist conquers Marathon des Sables

"Gruelling" barely begins to describe the Marathon des Sables, a 155-mile race through the Sahara desert in Morocco in temperatures of 40C. But London Frontrunner Steven Artist finished in an amazing 78th place in what is widely considered the toughest running event on earth.

Steven (pictured above left) was taking part in the six-day event to raise money for literacy charity Springboard for Children. You can read about his incredible feat at the Steven's Desert Dash blog and help his fundraising campaign by visiting his Just Giving page.
