London Frontrunners

London Frontrunners, as organisers of the 2011 Pride 10K Run, were very proud this week to present a cheque to the Albert Kennedy Trust for £2,500, which was raised during the event.

Co-Presidents Derek Clark and Nikki McKnight presented the cheque to Jonathan Penny from the AKT before LFR's regular Monday night run from St Thomas' Hospital.

Pride Run Our very own Pride Run 10k has been ranked as the 3rd best run of 2011 by Runner's World.
Well done to all those who helped organise the event, and a big thank you to everyone who took part for helping make the event such a great success.

Watch out for details of this year's race coming soon.

The London Frontrunners Committee had great pleasure this week in awarding the 2011 Newcomer of the Year award to Hyosu Kim.

Hyosu, who has been studying in London for the last couple of months, has made a huge contribution to the club. In particular, his determination to stick out all that mud and rain to become one of our most dedicated members of our men's cross country team.

Derek Clark, LFR Co-President, presented Hyosu with his prize at this week's Monday night run to a great round of applause from members.

Having completed his studies, Hyosu has sadly now left us to return home to his native South Korea.

We'll miss you Hyosu, but we wish you well!

Lisbon Marathon If you are looking for a pre Christmas 26 miler, Lisbon seems an ideal pick. This marathon is now in it's 27th year, and in the first week of December the temperature is a pleasant 15 degrees. It maybe needs to up it's publicity. I didn't feel it was marathon weekend, and the owner of my B&B looked right through me with incredulity when I said I was in the city for the event.

Sept 18th (am) The Wroxall Round (13 Miles 1500 feet ascent, FRA class CL)

If you're interested in taking part in the run then please e-mail the race secretaries ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) so we can help with accommodation and transport.
